How to apply

Companies wishing to apply for Partners in Innovation funding should fill out the MLA Donor Company project application form.

Milestones and other details can be left until later in the application process, and then completed with the assistance of the appropriate MLA manager.

Application approval process

Initial contact

  • Initial contact made between MLA and company
  • Overview of program mechanism provided to company
  • Initial project application provided to MLA by company
  • Initial project application reviewed by MLA for suitability for inclusion in MLA's research and development R&D program
  • Project application discussed between MLA and company

Project development

  • Confidentiality agreement made between MLA and company if required
  • Full project application form completed by company
  • MLA assists company with proposal details
  • Key issues/questions resolved between MLA and company
  • Generic MLA contract templates provided to the company

Project submission

  • Project assessed by MLA leadership group of senior managers
  • Further information/clarification of proposal by MLA requested from the company if required
  • Project approved or rejected

Project approval

  • Referred to MLA executive committee and MDC board for assessment if required (depending on level of funding requested)

Contracting

  • Details of the contract and project agreed and finalised between MLA and company

Project commences

  • Contracts signed by all parties
  • Project steering committee start-up meeting
  • Provider tender and selection process completed by MLA and company
