Final year project
A final year project is an important component of many university degrees that have a technical focus, such as engineering.
These projects provide students with the opportunity to apply concepts and techniques learnt in their course in a practical situation relevant to an industry of their choice. Universities usually require students to spend on average 8-12 hours per week on their project.
Program overview
MLA and AMPC have developed the Final Year Projects Program to allow the industry to gain access to these final year university students and to provide them with exposure to, and experience in, an industry that they may otherwise not have considered as a future career option.
MLA provides assistance to universities and participating companies in selecting and developing final year projects that are relevant to both the industry and the individual company.
Funding may also be available to assist companies that are employing a final year project student.
In some cases students participating in the Undergraduate Program can use their summer vacation project as their final year project topic, with support from MLA and the processing company.
