Teys knuckle puller

Description
The Teys Knuckle Puller is a manual assist device developed to make less physically demanding the task of knuckle boning.

The device is a low cost system that moves along the chain. It has been developed with the assistance of John Hughes, Teys and MLA.

It is an alternative to the RTL Beef Boning Unit, which also can be used for knuckle boning.

Benefits
First installed at Teys, the benefits of the device include:

  • The "pulling part" of the job is now performed mechanically instead of manually with virtually no strain/stress on the operator
  • Lighter framed/less physically capable employees are now performing the task
  • The system has received excellent feedback from staff
  • More consistent product is being produced
  • Work quality does not reduce whereas using the "traditional" method, as employees become fatigued their work quality would typically decline during the shift

Detailed comparisons are available between the Proman aitch bone puller, the RTL aitch bone puller and a Teys knuckle puller.

Availability
